FOREIGN BIOGRAPHY

« FOREIGN – The symphony of the Wandering Jew Â» is the work of singer/keyboard player Ivan Jacquin (Psychanoïa, Lifeseeker, Projekt One) ; the idea to create this master-piece appeared in his mind when he read in the past several books and chronicles about the myth of the Wandering Jew and inspired him three whole songs in a progressive and symphonic rock mood.

Since, time passed on, Ivan played in other musical rock and metal bands to be able to often play live with, but the idea to make FOREIGN a great piece of rock-opera took place once more in his brain at the end of 2011, when he had played with the « Symphonic Hommage to Pink Floyd Â» with an orchestra, a choir and a rock band where he was the keyboard player and lead singer during more than four years (2007-2011), a wonderful experience.

The search for singers and musicians has been very long because Ivan wanted to have lots of artists from different musical worlds, as the tracks of the project : rock, classical music, folk, middle-age, world, heavy-metal, electro, celtic, pop...

The story is amazing and gathers images and words on more than 2000 years, so the project will be made in three parts, three separate albums.

Foreign has the privilege to show 11 talented singers, male and female, with each having their own character, a 14-people mixed choir et more than 20 musicians from rock metal bands and others from more classical and exotic stuffs (dulcimer, sitar, duduk, cello, oboe...)

Recordings are achieved now, by the hands and ears of Ivan himself and guitar-player and sound-engineer Olivier Gaudet (Psychanoïa). Mixing and mastering have been made in a professional studio, 13 songs appear on the album, which is released since september 2014.

Foreign is a metal/rock opera from another time, less loaded than other symphonic works that you can here nowadays in current heavy-metal releases, more varied in feelings and moods, like a real journey inside time and space, more gazed on melodies which can provoke dreams on you, as if you were deep inside the millennial quest of Ahasverus, the poor jewish man cursed by Jesus Christ, condemned to immortality to have refused him a glass of water, when he was climbing the road to his crucifixion....
